7/1/20 - Power Connection Work Update

As you know from our last post we are focused on our power connection work which is occurring on the surrounding streets, Park, Halleck, Sherwin, and Horton. We officially started this work on 6/30/20 this week in a little different sequence that previously arranged.

We had planned to start on Park Avenue but due to delays coordinating tree protection with the City arborist we elected to start at the north end of Halleck at our project site by excavating the site of a large future PG&E connection box (item 2.4 below). Over the next couple of days we will dig holes in Halleck street (potholing work) in an effort to locate the power conduits we need to tie into to complete our system.

After the potholing we expect to be able to resume the work at Park Avenue next week as previously scheduled (see below). If anyone needs access to Halleck street and our contractor is in the way, please just signal to them to move and they will accommodate you.

Previous schedule:

  1. Park Avenue: 12 Days
    • Trenching across Halleck / Park intersection to SE corner of Park Street.
    • Placing #7 box in Park Street frontage
    • Blocking off parking stalls on South side of Park Street
    • Tree protection
    • Rebuild curb alignment for Park street corner.
    • Traffic control signage and personnel as needed.
    • Street sweeping as needed.
  2. Halleck Street: 16 Days
    • Trenching at southern portion of Halleck Street, east side.
    • Trenching at northern portion of Halleck Street across Sherwin
    • Blocking off parking stalls on southern and norther ends of Halleck Street.
    • Setting #7 box on project site, Sherwin Ave frontage.
    • Setting temporary transformer on project site, Sherwin Ave frontage.
    • Traffic control signage and personnel as needed.
    • Street sweeping as needed.

Thanks for your patience. Have a happy and safe 4th of July.
